Bill Kennedy used his landscape business as a means to put him self through college at Texas A&M, University of Texas, Dallas and finally Oklahoma City School of Law. He began by mowing lawns, clients
then began to ask about installing plants, repairing gates, installing fences, stone work, patios and even building additions. Between semesters Bill would install projects for clients alongside a very small crew. During those years supervision and layout was sometimes done between classes. “I remember a number of occasions attending classes coming straight from setting forms for a patio or installing flowers by myself,” recalls Bill. Bill remains as the head of the contracting and landscaping business and his reasons include: a sense of completion for a job well done.
At the start of his business in 2000, while still at Texas A&M, Bill had only one employee: himself. In 2002 Bill hired Gail Wright as general manager of Bill Kennedy Landscape. With over 20 years experience in the construction and green industry as a project manger, licensed irrigator, EPA WaterSense certified irrigation auditor, Gail is schooled in horticulture from Texas Tech and as a landscape designer she brings her experience and passion for sustainable landscapes to BKL.
In 2012 Bill hired Peyton Graeber as Director or Opertations. Bill has known Peyton for some time and the timing was right to bring him into BKL. We’re excited about our new Director of Operations. Peytons background in horticulture, irrigation, landscape installations and landscape property management make Petyon a perfect fit for BKL. Peyton has designed, built and managed the installation for many landscape projects throughout the DFW area both large and small. We have some exciting things planned for BKL this spring with Peyton’s experience leading the way.
We are excited to have Peyton here to partner with at BKL he and everyone at BKL sees the benefit to our clients for water conservation and with Peyton’s experience in new irrigation installations, landscape installations, landscape, turf management, and landscape construction. Peyton communicates his knowledge of horticulture and irrigation accurately to our clients for their benefit and the benefit of our shared environment.
Bill Kennedy Landscape believes that when client communication breaks down relationships fall apart. Because of this belief, everyone at Bill Kennedy Landscape does their part to ensure we keep clients
well informed of the work we do on their properties. One way we accomplish this is a detailed monthly listing of each maintenance item that should be performed on a client’s property.
